Alyssa has been wearing big girl panties now that she’s potty training.

She has a few with Elmo on them.

Elmo is Evan’s favorite character these days.

Here’s a conversation we had today:

Alyssa: Evan don’t touch me!

Me: Alyssa he’s just looking at the Elmo on your pannies

Alyssa: Mommy, no, not pannies…panTies!

Me: Oh right!

My bad, what do I know, I’m just a speech therapist.

Easter Sunday In A Flash

Saturday, 10 April 2010 10:43 by sabrina

It was a long, but exciting day for us.

Evan started off the Easter fun by waking up first and enjoyed some early morning candy from his Easter basket.  AND loved his very first Pez dispenser.

He was excited that his Pez dispenser had a duck on it. He loves ducks and calls them “E-I-O’s” as he’s slightly confused from the song Old MacDonald Had A Farm.  Ah well, he’ll call them duck’s the rest of his life, but for now those cute little yellow animals are “E-I-O’s” according to Evan.

He was more excited about his duck when he figured out there was candy inside!

Oh my that’s a early morning sleepy face if I ever saw one!

As for Alyssa, we had to wake her up in a hurry in order to get to church so sadly there are no pictures of her with her Easter basket.  But she did have a few minutes to poke through her basket before we left.

Our church put on an Easter egg hunt for the kid’s.  Here are a few group shots of all the kid’s in their Easter outfits and prepped with baskets for the hunt.

Evan was excited about his purple bucket. :)

The little kid’s had their own area with 100 eggs to find!

Luke helped Evan find his eggs.

Once Alyssa had found quite a few eggs she was tempted to go into the “big kid’s area to hunt for more eggs…can you see them in the grass?

She did at one point take off running into the big kid area.

And that’s all folks.  It was a fun filled Easter Sunday.

Speaking of filled…here you go mom, pictures of the kid’s Easter basket’s.  I had wanted to get a picture of each of them WITH their basket in their Easter outfits like last year…ah well! Maybe I’ll try to do a reenactment this week before I put all of the Easter stuff away. hehe

Ah The Joy’s of Egg Dye

Thursday, 8 April 2010 17:10 by sabrina

I decided that I should join the mobs of other mom’s who want to share the early joy’s of dying Easter Eggs with their young toddler’s.

I have no idea what I was thinking.

It did turn out to be moderately fun if you consider laughing at your husband’s frustration fun, like I do.

Here we are preparing the egg dye.  Evan wants to do everything that Alyssa does.

I have no idea what she is doing…trying to dye her hair?! lol  I’ll take this moment to point out that right before we dyed eggs she found some new clothes I bought her and HAD to put them on.  We put an apron over the top and wouldn’t you know, she figured a way to get red dye on the shirt AND shorts and NOT on the apron.  Hmmm now that is talent.  Luckily I treated the stains quickly and it came out! :)

Luke had the joy of helping Evan with his eggs.  Luke attempted to pretend to have Evan do it…but he’s too smart for his daddy.

So we gave Evan “the tool” to use to “stir” the egg.

But then he wanted the spoon…which turned out to be “dangerous” as you might can see from the yellow water about to spill out of the bowl below.

Then out of frustration, Luke invented a “NEW and upcoming color for Easter Eggs!”

CLEAR!

We gave Evan his bowl of clear water “dye” and let him have at it with an egg.  He dropped it in a few different times and was then curious as to the cracking noise.  He inspected the crack and decided he should take this opportunity to explore the egg further….. AND THEN…

He TOOK A BITE…into the shell and everything.  After deciding the shell wasn’t that good he used his finger to fish out the egg from the shell.

He then proceeded to concur and destroy. At one point the middle fell out into the water and intrigued at the little yellow ball, he picked it up and happily ate it as if he had found the creamy center of a Cadbury egg.  bleh!

As for Alyssa, when she noticed how much fun Evan was having with his egg, she decided to peel apart an egg she had just dyed.  And followed her little brother’s lead to take a bite into the crunchy egg shell.

But she is older and wiser and decided that it was not ideal to eat the egg with the shell and began to s…l…o…w….l….y pick apart her egg and then eat it.

When the fun was over, Easter Eve was upon us.  We ended up with some pretty fab eggs and I took their picture next to the kid’s Easter basket’s.
